George Manyere

Founder & CEO

George Manyere is the Founder & CEO of MHMK INFRATECH (PVT) LTD. He also founded Brainworks in 2008 and he was its Group CEO from formation till 1 February 2017. During his leadership, Brainworks grew to be recognised as a leading investment and corporate advisory company, with a strong presence in the following sectors in Zimbabwe i) financial services, (ii) life insurance (iii) hotel operations, (iv) real estate, (v) transport logistics and (vi) advisory services. Since its formation to the time George stepped down as Group CEO, Brainworks grew exponentially in all key metrics, notably the following (i) 1,200 total staff employees; (ii) revenues of US$48.2 million; (iii) total shareholders’ funds of US$65.4 million and (iv) total assets of US$162.8 million; (v) acquired and controlled 2 listed companies on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (African Sun Limited and Dawn Properties Limited); (vi) listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, a start-up which grew to be the leading consumer lender in Zimbabwe (GetBucks Financial Services Limited); and (vii) successfully closed on approximately US$500 million in corporate advisory deals comprising of both debt and equity.

Prior to founding Brainworks, Mr. Manyere was an investment professional with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), headquartered in Washington DC. While at IFC, he was responsible for investing in excess of USD 600 million in sub-Saharan Africa, and managing a portfolio of investments in excess of USD 400 million and represented IFC on several investee company boards. Mr. Manyere trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Zimbabwe and is a holder of a Bachelor and Honours in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa and a Certificate in Theory of Accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe.

George is a director of several companies, including some which are listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Johannesburg Stock Exchange and Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

Walter Kambwanji

Chief Finance Officer

Walter Kambwanji is the Chief Finance Officer of MHMK INFRATECH (PVT) LTD. He is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) and holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting from the University of Zimbabwe. Mr. Kambwanji co-founded Brainworks Zimbabwe and has significant experience in finance and operations in Zimbabwe and internationally. Prior to co-founding Brainworks Zimbabwe in 2009, he was a professional in the finance department of HSBC in London.

He has previously been Finance Director of various companies in Zimbabwe including BancABC Zimbabwe Limited, Renaissance Merchant Bank Limited and Murray & Roberts Zimbabwe Limited. Mr. Kambwanji sits on several boards of directors which include Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed, African Sun Limited, Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed, Dawn Properties Limited, Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed, GetBucks Financial Services Limited and Dawn Properties Consultants (Private) Limited.

Lloyd Mhishi

Non Executive Director

Lloyd Mhishi is a Non Executive Director of MHMK INFRATECH (PVT) LTD. He has practiced law at several well established Zimbabwean law firms since 1993. Although he has experience in general practice, Lloyd has a special interest in Conveyancing including registration of transfers and mortgage bonds with the Deeds Office. He has extensive experience in financial transactions involving financing agreements for international funders having registered security in their favour binding local institutional debtors. He also has experience in commercial and corporate law practice, banking and financial services work. Individually and as part of teams, Lloyd has advised on significant transactions including on competition laws, reconstruction and restructuring, schemes of arrangement, privatizations, unbundling, mergers and acquisitions and listings relating to a number of companies listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

Lloyd is, and has been a Director and Member of several public and private corporations and Councils including, FBC Building Society, Council for Legal Education, Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council, Standards Association of Zimbabwe General Council, ZECO Limited, Estate Agents Council, Firstel Cellular (Private) Limited, Ecobank Zimbabwe Limited and a Trustee on a number of Charitable and Family Trusts established in Zimbabwe. He is a past President of the Law Society of Zimbabwe having been a Councillor for more than a decade. He has also been a Lecturer and Departmental Chairman in the Procedural Law Department of the University of Zimbabwe for more than fifteen years. Lloyd has been appointed to several Constitutional Commissions and is currently a Commissioner on the Judicial Services Commission. Lloyd wrote and published a book entitled "The Law & Practice of Conveyancing in Zimbabwe" (Legal Resources Foundation, August, 2005). Apart from being a holder of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree, he is also a holder of a Masters Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance. He is the Founding Partner and current Senior Partner of the Law Firm; Mhishi Nkomo Legal Practice.

Jyrki Ilmari Koskelo

Non Executive Director

Jyrki Ilmari Koskelo is a Non Executive Director of MHMK INFRATECH (PVT) LTD. Mr. Koskelo previously served as Head of M&A and Corporate Development at Atlas Mara Limited and served as its Head of Strategy. Mr. Koskelo served as Co-Chief Executive Officer at ADC African Development Corporation. Mr. Koskelo has more than 30 years of experience in Emerging Markets and gained experience at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group, where he served as Vice President. While at IFC, Mr. Koskelo served as Vice President Global until July 2011 where he oversaw an investment portfolio in excess of US$5 billion in emerging markets, covering financial markets, infrastructure, mining, agriculture amongst others. He joined IFC in 1987 as an Investment Officer in the African Investment Department and served as its Director of Special Operations since 1999.

Prior to joining FC, he spent more than 10 years in senior management positions in the private sector. He has been a Member of Supervisory Board at First Investment Bank AD since June 2015 and Expobank CZ a.s. since September 1, 2014. He served as a Director of AS Expobank from November 6, 2012 to October 31, 2014. He served as a Non-Executive Director of ABC Holdings Limited until December 2013. He served as a Member of Supervisory Board at ADC African Development Corporation AG (alternative name ADC African Development Corporation GmbH & Co. KgAA) since January 8, 2013 until October 28, 2013. Mr. Koskelo holds a Master of Science Degree in International Management/Finance from Sloan School of Management/MIT and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Helsinki, Finland.

Tim Nuy

Non Executive Director

Tim Nuy is a Non Executive Director of MHMK INFRATECH (PVT) LTD. He has 8 years of international experience across countries such as Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom in Europe and Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe in Sub-Saharan Africa, 4 years of experience working as a managing director and extensive experience in investments, mergers & acquisitions and corporate advisory. He joined MyBucks S.A a year ago and has constantly exceeded target and led the company’s acquisition for banks and two micro-finance institutions. Tim has expert and specialist knowledge of a wide range of financial markets and investment processes, including full treasury and corporate fundraising activities. He has extensive experience in financial analytics and a CFA Charterholder, highly developed skills in business planning, valuations and data analytics.

Dirk Harbecke

Non Executive Director

Dirk Harbecke has more than twenty years of experience as a manager, entrepreneur and investor with international experience in Africa, China, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. He worked at the Boston Consulting Group where he planned the establishment of new financial services institutions in Western Europe and the Middle East. Most recently, Mr. Harbecke was the founder and CEO of ADC African Development Corporation AG (“ADC”), a German-listed investment company with a strong footprint in the banking industries in Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. In parallel, ADC focused on private equity investments in the emerging sub-Saharan African financial services sector. Under his leadership, ADC became a leading pan-African financial services group and was acquired in August 2014 by Atlas Mara Ltd., a financial services holding company co-founded by former Barclay’s chief executive officer, Robert Diamond. Mr. Harbecke holds an MBA degree from St. Gallen University in Switzerland.
